I didn't know this color..
Hiding behind the reflection from the light. And it's hazel... mostly... the left side has a slight tinge of greyish blue which I actually never noticed until recently.

This picture answers some questions, but at the same time, raises up a few others.
The silhouette in the reflection suggests a backlit-related effect, to maximize anonymity (as had been done often in a number of news video interviews).
I don't quite understand the translucent arc(s), but I guess it does give an artistic flavoring to this image.
Do you have iris color envy? It seems that many, if not all of the [female] anime characters you use have red eyes (with the exception of the one who I actually thought had green eyes, but they just looked that color from a distance).
I also suggest that you either get some rest or cut down on the espressos from Tim Horton's.

I assure you, I did nothing to "maximize anonymity" aside from obviously limiting the picture to just my iris. I literally grabbed my camera phone, walked into the bathroom (Because the lighting in my room sucks), held the camera up to my eye, and took the picture... I was actually trying to avoid getting excessive light reflection... but the way I was taking the picture made that pretty difficult as I had to look more or less in the direction of the light source to avoid having my pupils dilated in the picture.
As for the color envy thing... Sure, I think it'd be cool to have red eyes, but not to the point where I'd go out of my way to wear red contacts or anything (I've seen people do this). I'm not even really sure I'd say I'm envious honestly. The eye color being red in the pictures I use isn't something I look for, it just so happens that the pictures I like have characters with red eyes.
What IS a theme, is that most of the pictures I use feature characters with somewhat of a psychotic or suggestively violent expression... Which people like to emphasize with use of red eye color.
I'll admit I could do with more regular sleep... I do tend to go days without sleep sometimes.
