So, as I implied in response to BumFodder in my previous newspost... I've been entertaining the thought of creating my own website, which would more or less be the official site for my music, not to say it'd be exclusive about music, it'll probably end up being multipurpose for my other interests as well. I've got a lot of ideas, but at this point in time, they are just that, ideas.

And before I can even attempt to put them into play, I need to know if the investment would be worth it. Why? Because if I'm going to have my own website, I'm going to want to do it right, and that means buying a domain name and paying monthly for web hosting. And if my site is going to be completely dead, it'd be kind of pointless to be paying to keep it up every month.

So, my question to you guys is this. If I were to create an official website for myself (Forums included, obviously), would you visit?

As an added note, I have actually just set up a freebie forum to just get the ball rolling, which can now be found here. Drop by and say hi! And hopefully stick around and help the community, and eventually site, grow!

Well, I'd hopefully sign up with a decent web hosting service, which would keep lag to a minimum.

Considering I'm resorting to watching HTML tutorials on youtube to gain the knowledge to work on my site... I can't imagine I'd even be capable of anything beyond "simple" anyways, so all's good!

I don't really wanna go the template route, if I'm gonna make my own website, I want to at least have the knowledge to maintain it... that and I find most templates look like garbage anyways.

Granted, doing it with my own code also means I'll have to do all the graphical design as well... which could take a while.

Now I'm starting to fear that your website will be died as sevkitty. A week after creating an account I'm not seeing any traffic at all. If you don't at least have more than 15 active users in a couple months I suggest pulling the plug on the site to save money.

That's a freebie forum, I'm not paying for anything right now. And part of the reason it's dead is because I started a new job of which my first week on the job is 7 days straight... I also just worked 3 hours overtime, and get to work another extra 3 hours tomorrow because someone decided they were going to be sick tomorrow...
