Getting a decent picture of your own eye can be quite a challenge, especially if you lack a high definition camera.
My eyes are also hazel, except with a slight brown ring around my pupils. ;D
Not a chance at sarcasm. In fact, it's astonishment.
Well then... be amazed, for I think the eyes are the most beautiful part of the human body, eyes are usually the first thing I notice on a person.
This might sound off-topic, but you need strong eye-sight in order to spot the true significance of an individual's eye. You also need to have eyes of truth in your possession.
Without both, you shall always be deceived by vision, and this is the truth.
Hai, Sensei! Arigatou Gozaimasu, Sensei!
Thou shalt not speak Japanese against Pain; it's the Forbidden Rule #74.
I don't know what that means.
(Okay, I've got enough of this formal bullshit)
But on a lighter note, can you speak Japanese?
A little bit, yes, not enough to maintain a full conversation though.
Thus apart from that little fraction of Japanese, you can only speak English, correct?
More or less, yes... Although I did take 3 years of German and a year of French, I can't say I've retained any of it.
I've also got the Rosetta Stone pack for Russian sitting waiting to be started on.
I'm sure a lot has been written about eyes, the window to the soul... but I sense a bit of narcissism in your post as well.
Eyes don't make the man/woman, they're just window dressing for what really lies beneath.
I have a close friend on NG who has 3 colors to her eyes and wears contacts to keep onlookers from being befuddled.
Derp :3
I find it pretty amusing how judgmental you are towards someone you've never met while simultaneously calling me shallow.
You should give Chinese a go; once you're able to master Japanese, Korean and Chinese will be much easier to study.
Honestly, I'm not all that fond of Mandarin, I mean, it's an interesting language, but it's not something I'm really interested in learning.
I wasn't, either, but I was forced to learn it--actually, I had to. After a few years, I'd mastered it, and it will help me in the future.
China's economy is beginning to become the strongest in the world (but only temporarily). Since there are a lot of jobs in China, and since they make 'collaborations' with the U.S., Europe and other countries, learning Chinese would give you an upper-hand in economics and therefore being able to dominate business. In fact, looking for any job would be easier. Being strongly multi-languaged is an instant WIN for the future.
He he, just simple logic. It's the truth, though. =P
Well, like you said, learning any additional languages looks great on a resume... but I'm not really learning any languages for professional use. I'm really just learning other languages because, I dunno... I think they'd be fun to learn. If they also happen to help me land a better job, awesome.
Japanese has the added bonus that I will finally be able to play imported games and know what's going on, or watch anime without subtitles. Russian on the other hand I just wanna learn cause it sounds fun to speak.
As long as you have passion for learning the language you want to study, it would be okay...I guess.
Russian sounds a bit like 'ghsawiskasdzich' IMO; it doesn't sound 'smooth'. I'd pretty much like to study German, but with English, Dutch and Chinese to study, I don't think it will be possible.
On the other hand, I usually study languages for (1). communication with society and (2). the opportunities for jobs, ofc.
Furthermore, it's actually a bit easier to learn a language if you watch some TV show in that certain language. Ever experienced such a boost by just watching TV in that language (let's say Japanese for example)?
I watch a great deal of anime, and yes, it certainly helps, I'm using the full scholarship course for Japanese via Rosetta Stone, and I've noticed, even though I've still got a long, long way to go, that I find myself understanding conversations without the need for subtitles... While it can sometimes be very spotty... It really helps to get a feel for practical use of the language.
I'm certainly not to the point where I can turn off the subtitles and explain to someone what's being said throughout an entire episode, but here and there, I catch words and grammar that I've gone over in Rosetta Stone, and it just sort of clicks... I don't struggle to translate it to english... Hell, I don't translate it at all, I hear it and simply know what it means.
And it's actually very satisfying when those moments happen, because it re-enforces the feeling of progress in your mind. And pushes you to endure another redundant review of the basics.
Hey, 14 comments in 6 hours ! And only 4 different people who wrote them.. So, I think eyes are something strong. They've got the power to reflect things that we don't wanna say, they've got the power to change the looks of other people.. But ! I think they reflect the innonence.. we use our eyes since we are birth, and we put all our fate in them.. So they're the easier thing you can lie to.. And this isn't a good thing.. Well, always not sure 'bout my english, but I hope it's understandable !
You worry too much about your english, it's not as bad as you think. ;D
And also, my eyes are pretty like the one on the picture, but with a darker blue, and a different drawing in them.. and without the brown around the pupil.. Monochrome eyes ! In fact, it's completely different from the one on the picture..
"They're totally the same but completely different!"
(This is not good, 9/17 comments belong to me, lol)
To be honest, watching a show AND reading the subtitles in the same language (not English) actually boosts your 'knowledge' on that certain language by about 15%. You can try it out; it's one major factor that helped me boost my speed at Chinese. Perhaps the Japanese system works the same way, and it actually should IMO; the two languages are related.
Okay, my teenage 'philosophy' ends here; too many comments is too much. =3
I'll have to give that a try sometime. ;D
Well duh, can not not comment.
Eyes hu? Ah well *stands up, looks for mirror*.
I'd say, well it's hard to describe such complex structures with easy words I recon. Just as it's hard to describe the taste of a wine with words or the feel of music. If I'd have to give a colour I'd say grey though. Pretty dull colour, I just hope that doesn't mean I am a dull person?!
Sure go ahead and take a picture of your eyes, we are (well at least I am very) intrigued to see them now.
As for the most beautiful part of the human body - can't say. Thinking really hard I'm not able to pinpoint what struck me about the (admittedly only female) persons that ... intrigued me. If it is on a platonic level I do not care much for looks as it is hard enough to find ppl to talk to, to whom I don't feel an urge to bash their skulls in for all the nonesense they spout/their asocial behaviour or the likes. Does that make it the brain?
Guess I AM the weirdo everyone thought me to be . . . not that they were any less weird to me.
BTW learning german: horrible idea (imo). I mean I allready speak it but I can't see what you'd do much with it unless you a) want to live in ger/swiss/austria or b) have professional ties with a german company or such. I mean sure you could go ahead and listen to Rammstein but that's a rather wasted potential of language. You could try to read Goethe or Schiller or ETA Hoffman, but their german is horribly convoluted, as they are all romaticists. Besides that I can't come up with anything you can use it for really. We do not publish bazillions of manga/anime (or good movies for that matter), neither are we a booming economy (not much missing to be, in fact, shrinking). Then again - as I allready speak that language I find it terribly boring (unlike most languages I dont speak).
P.S.: We still need a goddamn edit button.
I dunno, I like grey eyes, maybe it's simply because I don't know many people who have them, I dunno the reason, I just like them... I've also got a thing for heterochromia... Just fascinates me.
As for my eyes... soon(ish).
And German... really I only took it because my highschool only offered 1 language, and that was German. So I took it for easy credits basically.
As for an edit button, sorry, best I can do is delete your post so you can try again. :(
Eye's are cool.
OcularNebula uses some nice eye pics, and they work for him.
So why not you?
I prefer cookies though. ^_^
-Aaroca-
MMM...! Cookies!!
Cookies are pretty damn awesome.
What about something like cookie eyes ? =O That may be amazing !
Another post 'cause there's written : "Spill your thoughts". So I guess I can..
I've got friend who's got different eyes color and I have to say that I prefer the eyes who are colored.. Like my friend who's got yellow eyes, or another who's got something like blue/white eyes. But anyway, when I'm looking the eyes of someone more than 2sec.. I become mesmerized by them, and apparently, it's something strange.
It's very strange, but I'll keep enjoying them nonetheless.
Hazel eyes are best eyes <3

You are one freakin funny moderator.
Thank you, I think.

....or if you want only the eye... that's awesome too :3
You know it'll only be the eye. ;D

You're the first NG user I've ever seen that likes eyes.
