So... I've been noticing recently that my stuff has been getting a lot more attention lately... Where did this sudden, seemingly random, boom of interest in my music come from?
Someone even said I was "popular" in chat a couple days back, to which I thought, "Me? Popular? Not possible."
Have I just been ignorant... clueless... about some increase in interest in my stuff? Or... what?
Someone explain, before I hurt myself trying to think over how this happened.

It takes time. After random browsing, people happen upon your work and, if they like it, they will check out the author's page for more information, perhaps even a trip into their mind with what they tend to blog about. To be more specific, once they find out how you've collaborated with other well-known talents, they begin to see some badge of quality. This could be one reason behind your recent surge of interest, while the other is purely a result of using said blog to promote yourself.
Not to mention, you've been around for a while and you've gotten better. I remember when I checked out BHT from the bottom rung of your catalog. That was several years ago--at least four or maybe five--and back then, it was okay. These days, new material is stunning.
The prudent thing is not to think too much about it. You weren't gunning for wide appeal, just to be a skilled musician. Take it easy, because it gets easier over time. You're always going to have a few people who know who you are and what you do, so take a deep breath and think of something soothing... like Shadman's latest submission to the portal. Every page of cartoon artwork he churns out looks like a Slayer music video.

Well, when you put it like that, it makes me feel stupid for not noticing... Cause honestly, I still don't think my stuff is all that great. "You are your own worst critic" I guess.
