This is a random newspost because my HDD isn't dead and having a newspost up that says it is is totally misleading so until I have something worthy of using my front page posting for I'm going to use this opportunity to say HELLO HOW ARE YOU?!

When a HDD goes bad, there's excessive noise while it's on, and there's problems loading and accessing data... if that ever happens, stick teh HDD in a plastic bag, freeze it for a few hours, then use Ghost to clone the drive to a working drive - best done in a low humidity environment, but usually the heat of a bad bearing/reader arm/broken board, will keep condensation at bay.
It's not though, it fixed itself. Just the power outage caused a great deal of corrupted data, when the automatic maintenance kicked in, it sorted it all out.
But I'll keep that in mind if it does start to actually fail.
ON XP, all that data gets dumped into a file of varying size.. not hard to extract from, but difficult to restore so it's readable. You using Windows 7? Can see why you'd think it was a HDD error then... computers these days run so much more stuff in RAM. Glad it's all sorted!
Yeah, when the power fluctuates, bolt for switch to turn it off all the way! I got one on my desk that's always on when it's plugged in (no rocker switch on the back). I lost some good amped speakers, thanks to inconsistent power, even when the thing was turned off (again, power supply always on, and dishing out juice to a delicate little circuit board).

Well, this is the first weekend off I've had in 10 months, so I guess I can't complain. Except that the only reason I got the full weekend off is cause I called in sick yesterday.

Upon a page refresh, I see that it is now Taiga... same show, still awesome, but now my "Minorin~!" makes a tiny bit less sense. Oh well.

Don't remember the exact power supply and motherboard off the top of my head, and I'm too lazy to go digging to find the boxes or open up my PC to look. But it gets the job done.

Nope, I jumped from Vista straight to Windows 8... mostly because I wanted to keep up with an OS that'll in theory last the longest.
Funny though that I seem to be jumping the "good generation"... Seems people say Microsoft OS's are generally "Good, bad, good, bad, good, bad"... And I seem to have landed on "Bad" twice in a row now.
I dunno though, it works, and that's all I really care about.

It's still there, and I'm still working on it... Granted not as often as I'd like because work is being super stressful right now.
I'm actually saying that in the sense of "is-the-site-down-what's-wrong" sorta way (now fixed since my ISP are jerks >:C), but glad to know you still care.
