The instrument has potential

I don't know what it was you were using, but I hear massive potential for some DnB action.

As for the "song" itself, you need to turn your input down, there was a heapload of clipping on the track, I only managed to listen through once for fear of damaging my speakers.

At points, you had a really nice rhythm going, which is impressive considering you can only play one pad at a time (For whatever reason). I'd suggest recording in multiple takes overlapping them as to get a full song out of it.

My only other complaint I guess would be fairly obvious, there were points (don't lie, you know that's what you were doing) where you were just "mashing buttons", and it was fairly painful on the ears.

Aside from that though, if you can find a way to overlay the tracks and record different takes separately, this could be turned into something great.

NekoMika responds:

I gave link to what I am using here :P

Yea, at the time I wasn't paying attention to and was not very good at recording volume. Have gotten a lot better since then though.

Actually if you hit a second key a half second after the first one it counts as two notes at once.

Thanks for the review.

Metalize it

Honestly, I think it would sound amazing metalized... but that's coming from a metalhead.

It's not too bad, although I think a couple sections/"instruments" would have been better left out or changed a bit, as some of it doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of the music and feels like it was put there just to fill the song out.

Otherwise, not too shabby.

NekoMika responds:

Yea, this was back when I actually had Mario Paint on my laptop. =[

I like it

Some good chops you got there, you've done me proud.

GodBlock responds:

Thanks :D it helps to have a good tune behind it :D

PS what do you mean by chops? we don't say that here in the UK

Potential

This has potential, but you really have to readjust that autotune, most of it is fine, but lower in the range, the autotune is horribly off-key, which ruined the whole song for me hearing 1 note every so often that was just like nails on a chalkboard.

Aside from that, it wasn't too bad. My only big complaint (Badly tuned autotune aside) is that it's much too simple in terms of progression, there is no real lift to the song. It sounds nice in the intro, but it never really progresses any further than the feel in the intro. Simply put, there's no real climax, the chorus really could have used a little more fleshing out, maybe adding a nice soft pad or an atmospheric texture to just pump up the emotional pull that is usually found in the chorus of songs.

My final tiny gripe is that the synth used in the chorus sounds like it was detuned just a tiny bit too much.

And critique aside, I'd suggest trying to do a track (Be it this one or another song) without autotune, you have a very soft voice, which is perfect for this type of "vocal trance". Don't rely on autotune too much, you'll never learn to sing better if you don't try without it.

KameKairos responds:

Thanks for the review. I agree with pretty much everything there. I'll have to rework this song. As for my singing, I am practicing without Autotune, but at the moment it doesn't soundd very good so I haven't posted any songs without Autotune. I plan to when I'm able to hit the right pitches though. :)

Epic

I don't care what anyone else says. This is a work of art.

Rig responds:

It sure is!

Nice

It is a little repetitive, however it does give off a good atmosphere, I could definitely see this as credits music for a horror game/movie. Loved the "wobbly" usage.

And on to the Schitzoid critique. Unfortunately, a tempo change (It slows down a tiny bit in the second half, yeah?) isn't a time signature change. The mood change is pretty subtle, but it is there, and I love the feeling of the second half.

Overall though, I quite enjoyed it, I'd love to see this used in a flash of some kind.

eatmeatleet responds:

Ah, the time signature, right :/ I know what it is. Well, anyway glad you liked

Very nice

This has the best mood switch of the songs I've reviewed so far, by far. I loved the drumbeat, very upbeat, brought the rest of the music up from a more mellow feel to a sort of jazzy sound.

Loved the beach sounds as well. Really my only complaint is that the strings seem to wander just a little bit, but overall, was very well done. The short little piano melody at the end was a very nice touch as well.

landscapers1 responds:

sorry man for the time signature change... I wanted to expand it on my drum but It seems to stay in a weird 4/4. No worries, I've already done 3/4 in one of my songs ;).
Thanks!

Not bad

Not bad at all, although a tempo change doesn't really count as a time signature change, I'll let that go.

My biggest critique here is the song is rather simple. But aside from that, it does do a pretty good job changing the mood throughout, especially when contrasting the middle bit with the end.

The bass part throughout is pretty unique and gives off a different kind of vibe, which is a nice change from most peoples use of the common 4 note bass line.

Keep it up!

Kicker121 responds:

Ya, it was all I could come up with in 24 hours. If I get time next week I'll update it and relearn what a time sig is too :P Thanks for reviewing.

Epic

This is what all DnB should sound like if you ask me, very melodic, yet busy, upbeat, and very well processed.

Keep it up.

SessileNomad responds:

why thank you i think so as well

Hmm...

I would very much like to have your babies.

This was just purely epic.

Setu-Firestorm responds:

lol Thanks.
